FENWICKS CHRISTMAS WINDOW 2019: CHARLIE AND THE CHOCOLATE FACTORY

Thursday 14 November 2019

For three years I've posted about the Fenwicks Christmas Window and it's becoming a tradition to go see it every year now. For many years I was never bothered about seeing the window but lately I've been getting more and more excited for festive activities leading up to Christmas Day. For the past two years Fenwicks have had a Paddington Bear and The Snowman on display. If you don't come from Newcastle or can't get down to the window, here is some photos for your viewing pleasure.

CHARMED; 20 YEARS | A TAG

Tuesday 22 October 2019

Can you believe the original Charmed has been on for more than 20 Years?! I feel so old when I find out how long ago it was since my favourite shows aired. I grew up watching The Halliwells and loved every minute. I still watch reruns had have decided to watch the new reboot, i have aired my thoughts out on Twitter about the reboot at various times but the OG Charmed will forever be the best. Completing this tag really makes me want to rewatch Charmed again. Time to invest in the new Blu Ray's.

WHY I LOVE THE FIFTH ELEMENT

Monday 21 October 2019

I'm going to go full on geek today because The Fifth Element is my all time favourite film. Ever. I watched it when it originally came out and I'm pretty sure I saw it at the cinema with my parents.
I think I can quote every word in this film as well as the divine language which Leeloo speaks. Although I don't have much merchandise, I do have the book adaptation, my own multi-pass, the PS1 game (it was awful and a proper game needs to be made but I still played it religiously) and a Leeloo pop vinyl but I'm always saving for new items to collect. How can you not like this film, it's a cult classic now?!

GAMES I WANT REMASTERED

Sunday 20 October 2019

Everywhere you turn there are remasters being announced in the gaming world, from Spyro to Resident Evil 2. I'm always excited when one is announced. We've come so far in technology and graphics, why not update older games and I do love having the option of powering up a PS1 and playing Crash Bandicoot but also have the option to play in high def on the PS4. Mostly publishers or gaming production company's have ceased to trade or licensing laws prevent certain games from being re-made which is a shame but that doesn't stop us day dreaming about them.

MY UNDERRATED FILMS PT1: MR RIGHT

Saturday 19 October 2019

I've only seen Mr Right, three times and it has to be one of my top 10 films and one of the most underrated films I've seen in a while. The film came out in 2016 and stars Sam Rockwell as Frances, a hitman who kills those who hire him, Anna Kendrick as Martha, who captures the heart of Frances and Tim Roth as Hopper, one of the bad guys. Its such a cute film that it makes me smile all the way through.
I've had to include gifs in this post! (they look better on a phone haha)

VITAMIN E MIST AND SERUM

Friday 18 October 2019

When it comes to skincare, I'm the absolute worst.  I always forget to moisturise and for the better part of the last few months I've been hardly wearing a full face of makeup, just adding mascara and filling in eyebrows when needed.  And since it's autumn and winter is just around the corner, I need to take care of my skin.

7 COMMON MISCONCEPTIONS ABOUT WICCA

Thursday 17 October 2019

Ever since I can remember I've always been drawn to the world of Wicca and Witchcraft. I guess it doesn't help that I was a fan of Charmed, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Sabrina the Teenage Witch among other films and tv depicting witches but for years I've never fully embraced Wicca because these words get questionable looks and glances whenever someone mentions them and I don't want people to shy away from me. People get spooked and don't want to take the time to learn the truth.  Plus it's quite an expensive religion (crystals, athemes and spell books all add up) and I don't wanna meddle in things without knowing what I'm doing, I'm not an experienced wiccan. I've only ever researched but I kinda wanna bring you on a journey with me.

25 THINGS I LEARNED FROM THE MOVIES

HORIZON CHASE TURBO | GAMING

Monday 14 October 2019

Horizon Chase Turbo is a game I've had in my PlayStation Library for a while from a monthly PlayStation plus games but never fully downloaded and played until recently when three of us wanted to play a silly fun game. Oh boy did we get addicted to racing each other. I've said in the past that I've wanted to incorporate more gaming posts into my blog so here I am.

THING'S WE DIDN'T TALK ABOUT... | Book Review*

Saturday 12 October 2019

Thing's We Didn't Talk About When I Was A Girl by Jeannie Vanasco is such a powerful read. I've mentioned lately how I've been reading memoirs and loving them and this is no exception. Since reading from day one I haven't been able to put it down. Warnings of Rape and Sexual Assault.

Friday 11 October 2019

So I got invited to the opening of All Bar One in Newcastle. I was so excited, originally we were suppose to go to the event on the 4th of October but it was moved to the 10th! I told my mum all about it and she dug our this lovely black strapless dress for me to wear. I took a +1 with me and that was Tony. Perfect opportunity for a date night! Warning this post is picture heavy.

ME, MYSELF AND ANXIETY | #mentalhealthawareness

Thursday 10 October 2019

During my teen years, I suffered from Anxiety. I didn't know it back then and it's taken me till my late twenties to realize and deal with my mental illness. "Oh you're just a shy girl" , "You just need to come out of your shell", "No need to worry" "Get out more" Just a few words that have been endlessly repeated of the course of my growing pains. I was a shy girl. But that shyness turned into an illness.

TV SHOWS TO WATCH IN AUTUMN

Wednesday 9 October 2019

I love a good slob about on the sofa with a fluffy blanket, cup of tea and just binge watch shows after a tiresome week of work. There's something about watching TV shows in autumn that just give me a warm fuzzy feeling and usually all the best shows come back on our TV's during fall.

JAWBREAKERS AND STARS

Tuesday 8 October 2019

Hello my ghouls, my boos, my.. oh I don't know. Hey everyone. Just to point out, I'm not really happy with the outcome of these photos but I tried, I may retake them soon. Anyhoo.. I've been so excited to try a Jeffree Star eye shadow palette for the longest time, so when I won a competition a few months ago I just had to see what all the fuss was. I've tried Jeffree's liquid lipsticks before and loved them but I hadn't tried the eye shadow or anything else. So when my package came, there was a mini jawbreaker palette, a liquid lipstick, a lip scrub and lip gloss. But today I'm just going to be talking about the mini palette.

MY FAVE WITCHY READS

Monday 7 October 2019

Since spoopy spooky season is upon us, I thought I'd share my favourite witchy reads! Usually you will find my nose in the book of a good thriller, a YA novel or lately, a memoir. But one thing I do love is Fantasy and Magic books. I love many fictions that have adventures about witches and supernatural beings and I can't wait to find the next novel full of magic and mystery.

I hope you find a magical new book for you to cosy up to and wish you could be a part of like me. Here are a few of my fave witchy reads.

GILMORE GIRLS TAG

Saturday 5 October 2019

So I've done quite a few tags, from Buffy to Harry Potter and I came across this Gilmore Girls tag by Abigail and I squealed and instantly wanted to do this for my blog. It's perfect timing as autumn is here and the Gilmore's is a perfect show to watch while getting comfy on the sofa with a big blanket and a nice cup of spiced chai latte (or whatever autumn drink you like to guzzle)

PIZZA PUNKS

Friday 4 October 2019

I recently won a competition on facebook to win a Pizza and a Cocktail at Pizza Punks in Newcastle. Bring a friend, they said. So I did. Pizza Punks have been around since 2018. Fresh to the restaurant scene in canny old Geordieland. My friend was so excited that I had won this competition "You win everything!" I do have a bit of luck on my side. "I hope you're taking me" Of Course I'd be taking my best friend. I love our friend dates together and this was a perfect opportunity.

SLEEP by C.L Taylor | BOOK REVIEW

Thursday 3 October 2019

I've been a fan of Cally for a while now and she's quite easily one of my favourite authors. I won The Treatment in 2017 and prior to that I read The Missing and loved both. So when I read she had a new book out, I just had to get on amazon and order it. Few days later and voila, I had a copy in my hands.

Wednesday 2 October 2019

When I attempted to blog everyday in October in 2017 I made a list of 31 Spooky Films for Halloween (Actually I messed up and there is only 29 films on the list and no one told me I missed flipping two) and now I'm back with another 31 (yes I counted this time) films you can watch through Spooky Season.

OCTOBER GOALS | BLOGTOBER

Tuesday 1 October 2019

Okay so lets not recap any previous goals I've posted on my blog before because none of them got completed or even attempted. Everything usually ended up on the back burner due to life and various events that prevented such goals from being accomplished but I'm hoping to achieve the following this October.

CBD BUDDY REVIEW*

Friday 13 September 2019

I suffer from Anxiety and Depression and I jumped at the opportunity to test out some CBD Oil that you can ingest as I don't smoke. I've been reading about the effects of Marijuana and how it's helped people with Anxiety. Most figures show that people who have used Medicinal Marijuana or CBD oil have seen changes and improvements for whatever illness they taking it for. Obviously this is still in research stage and we don't know the full effect and benefits that smoking marijuana or eating CBD oil does to the body but I wanted to try this out for myself and see if I saw any difference.

OTHERWORLD - BOOK REVIEW

Wednesday 4 September 2019

SCREENCAP SUNDAY #1: INFAMOUS SECOND SON

Sunday 3 February 2019

playstation lights cards and controller

I want to incorporate more gaming posts on my blog since gaming is a big part of my life and game level designs and art work are my favourite things to look at and I love collecting art books. I want to showcase some of my favourite pictures I've made using the screenshot / photo mode features on the PlayStation 4. I spend a lot of time strolling through a game and constantly looking around for details in the environment. I'm very much an explorer. So to capture what I've found or what looks amazing is so much fun to do.
