NETFLIX: 6 TV SHOWS YOU SHOULD WATCH

Saturday 4 February 2017

Get comfy on the sofa with a good cup of tea, coffee, drink of choice and get ready to binge watch these fantastic tv shows I'm currently loving on Netflix. Also enjoy some cute gifs, just click some of the names and don't judge the colour of my tea.

Riverdale

Riverdale is a dark teen drama based around the Archie Comics, following Archie and his friends, Betty, Veronica and Jughead.  So far only two episodes are out on Netflix but I'm obsessed. Jughead is so far my favourite character and he is played by Cole Sprouse (from Suite life of Zack and Cody). Also I love how every redhead is beautiful. We already see Josie and the Pussycats pop up, so I wonder how long it will take for Sabrina the Teenage Witch to make an appearance. I've seen people give it bad reviews on IMDB but don't listen to them, watch it for yourself and see if you get hooked and want to know more about Riverdale's secrets. As it's based on the Archie Comics, don't expect it to be exactly like them, as like all adaptations, things change to suit our times. Even if you've never read the comics, give it a go. It's better to have a fresh mind, then to compare it with the original material. Perfect for fans who love a good teen drama.

Santa Clarita Diet

I've literally just started watching this yesterday. Starring Drew Barrymore and Timothy Olyphant as Shelia and Joel, realtors who's life get turned upside down when Sheila goes through a dramatic change. It's weird, quirky and funny. The first episode was a bit stiff with acting, almost like the actors are trying to see how to portray their characters, but as the show goes on, it's a bit more smooth. Each episode is only 30 minutes long and with just the right amount of FX yuckiness and Gore. This show is perfect for fans of Dexter and iZombie. As it seems to be a little bit of a mash up but works fine! Oh and Nathan Fillion makes an appearance, I won't say anymore. Go watch it.

A Series of Unfortunate Events

I've never read the books, but after binge watching the entire first season, now I want to buy them and binge read them all. I remember watching the film and not liking Jim Carrey as Count Olaf, but I adore Neil Patrick Harris as the Count. ASOUE recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans -- Violet, Klaus, and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance. The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death. I have to admit I love Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket and I really dislike the character Mr Poe, (fun fact, he was in Buffy the Vampire Slayer in Season 3) but other than that, I love the cinematography and quirkiness of the show. And that theme tune. Look away, Look Awaaaaay

How to Get Away with Murder

Goddam this tv show gets me every single episode. It's so freaking good. And you'll be hooked and drawn into the world of Annalise and her students as they cover up..well a murder. Each episode is pretty much a cliffhanger (which when watched weekly just kills me (pun intended) and heaven have mercy on my vagina because Frank is one sexy psycho assistant. Every season is just amazing. Just watch it. It stars Viola Davis, Alfred Enoch, Charlie Weber, Liza Weil (You'll know her as Paris in the Gilmore Girls) and many more amazing actors.

ShadowHunters

Based on the Mortal Instruments book series by Cassandra Clare. Shadowhunters The Series follows Clary Fray after she is dived into the crazy world of demon hunting while trying to find her mother who has been kidnapped.
I absolutely LOVE the book series and there has been some changes in the tv show but I still love it, flaws and all. Magnus the warlock is my favourite character in the books and seeing him portrayed by Glee's Harry Shum Jr made me very happy, at first I didn't even recognize him under all the eyeliner but he makes a wonderful Magnus Bane.(MALEC FOREVERRR) After seeing the movie, I actually couldn't see anyone else become Clary and Jace but Katherine McNamara and Dominic Sherwood do an excellent job. Alberto Rosende also makes a great Simon but I did prefer Simon in the movie. If you like Supernatural teen shows & the books.. Watch this. Don't if you hate book to series adaptations.

iZombie

Based off the graphic novel and created by the guys that made Veronica Mars. iZombie tells the story of Liv (Olivia) Moore, a medical resident who gets caught up in a party disaster and finds herself as a Zombie. Oh and she also works in the coroner's office with Ravi who is in on her zombie secret and she is able to access brains to eat which helps maintain her humanity and eating the brains also gives her the memories that person which helps Detective Babeineaux solve cases, but he doesn't know her Zombie secret, he just thinks and accepts that shes psychic. Sound good? She also has to deal with other Zombies too. You should watch it, Liv's meals actually look good enough to eat sometimes, Ravi is hilarious and I love the cause of how Liv becomes a Zombie! I also realise I have two tv shows in here about Zombies. =^.^=

What are some of your favourite shows on Netflix at the moment?

  2. iZombie is the best TV show since Buffy, which is the best TV show. I love it to death and then undeath and beyond. I was curious about Riverdale but I didn't realise it was based on Archie. I've never read it but I hear it is good and if it has attractive red heads in it then I am sold.
